T20 World Cup, India vs England: England need more silverware to achieve greatness, says Moeen Ali | Cricket News

England need to win more silverware to be considered a truly excellent limited-overs team, all-rounder Moeen Ali said, as the 2010-2010 World Cup champions prepare to take on India in the semi-finals of the latest edition on Thursday.
England, who also won the 50-over version three years ago, failed to hit the best gear in Australia and reached the last four with a narrow win over Sri Lanka.
“There is a lot of talk about us being a great white-ball team and the English team was very good, but we have only won one tournament,” Moeen told British media.
“It is important that we start winning more as a team and as a country.
“Then we can call ourselves a top side.”
While England have not been firing on all cylinders at the World Cup, Mooen has backed them to reach at the right time.
“We wanted to get to the semi-finals. In the past we played well and got through,” he said.
“This time I don’t think we played well, but we came through and the best is yet to come with this team. I don’t think we were close to where we want to be, but this is a great opportunity now. to get it right set.
“You always talk about peaking at the right time and if you scratch through that, it means you can get better. If we play our best cricket in the next two games I believe we win the World Cup.”
