Kagiso Rabada-Anrich Nortje can help South Africa win T20 World Cup, says Dale Steyn | Cricket News

MELBOURNE: South African speed legend Dale Steyn said this Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada can help their country win the ICC T20 World Cup.
Steyn named his dream fast bowling attack by picking his top five favorite pacers currently performing well in the World Cup.
A deadly quick in his prime, he produced one of the finest moments in tournament history by defending seven runs in the final against New Zealand in 2014. Now as a commentator, the now-retired player keeps a close eye on the action. this year’s T20 World Cup tournament in Australia.
“Rabada is the leader of the South African attack. I hope South Africa can go on and win this World Cup and he doubles up with Anrich Nortje as my other South African fast bowler, I think the two of them in combination are just fantastic,” is Steyn quoted according to the ICC.
“They’ve got good pace, they’ve got good skills, especially in Australia, Rabada seems to be at a level when he comes to Australia, so I’m looking for that competitive range to come out of him, and the two of them can go on and help South Africa to win this World Cup,” he added.
Next on the list is England pacer Mark Wood, who labeled Steyn as his “favourite from England”.
“I saw him the other night and he told me he was going to bowl well. I think he is the first fast bowler to bowl all 24 balls in his game of four overs at 140 kilometers per hour.”
“He wasn’t looking to bowl one slower ball, he’s just absolutely fantastic. He wants to chase batsmen, bowl a big yorker and a fantastic bouncer and I think if England are going to go all the way, Mark Wood takes them there,” he added.
On the next entry, Australia’s Mitchell Starc, Steyn said: “He’s just a fantastic fast bowler. He’s well experienced here in Australia, won the World Cup a couple of times – a 50-over World Cup as well as ‘ a T20 World Cup with Australia.”
“Again heaps of experience, another big wicket eater, left arm, something different, he scares the batsmen with sheer speed and just through exceptional experience over the years and winning World Cup medals, he knows how to win tournaments,” he added .
Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi was the pace legend’s last choice and said he was vital to his side’s chances of reaching the semi-finals.
“We saw him in the last T20 World Cup and he was just absolutely incredible. He’s got great skill, looks to swing it back to the right hand and has good skill when it comes to the slower ball, a very quick bouncer. and again, another guy Pakistan are going to rely on if they want to beat South Africa to make it to the semi-finals,” he said.
