Following 50 centss interview The Breakfast Club with Charlamagne the God on October 19, the rapper’s son, Marquis Jackson, 26, took to Instagram to ask his dad to meet him while claiming he had no way to contact him. “Now you all see I tried to reach out to talk to my pops as a MAN before the [earth emoji] & behind the scenes. I have no phone number for you and you’ve blocked me on social media for years so I can’t DM you in person and everyone that’s mutual is afraid to broach the subject because they’re afraid of you,” Marquise captioned the throwback photo of him and Fif.
The 26-year-old, who has been feuding with his father for years, then went on to say that Instagram is the “only way to” reach the “In da Club” rapper. “I don’t like attention, I’ve had so many opportunities to get it and I don’t choose either [sic]. I saw the breakfast club interview and it didn’t sound like a lot of accountability there just ego, blame and more so about money like you’re the kid in the situation,” his son continued. The end of his first paragraph concluded with Marquise saying that Fifty “broke his heart” but that all was forgiven. “Those texts were ME I was waiting outside for you, that was the day you broke my heart. I forgave you for that. I’m ready when you’re ready to sit down and talk,” he wrote.
Marquise’s Instagram post comes one day after the 47-year-old musician appeared on the radio show to address the situation with his son. When Charlamagne asked Fif about his son wanting to sit with him, the father responded with, “No, he doesn’t.” “See, Charlamagne, you were going to call me. You don’t call TMZ to say you want to sit down. Think about it, man. You know, he wants some attention, and that’s okay he can have as much of it as he wants,” Fifty added. The father of two appeared to be referring to who his son was talking to TMZ on October 13 to say that he wanted to speak to his father face to face.
Fif then told the radio host that Marquise was “trained” to believe what he said in his TMZ interview for “a long time” and then called his son “entitled”. Fifty continued, “When I say he’s entitled, it’s really his mother’s [Shaniqua Tompkins] right, but it’s filtered. I told you I give half a million dollars a year, they go through the paperwork they see half a million dollars a year. At that point, she expected even more. This is why I took out child support. You don’t usually file for child support, like, I took myself to child support. Because she didn’t understand that I’m already giving you more than you’re supposed to get.”
Towards the end of the interview, Charlamagne asked, “so you’ll never be open to that?” and Fif has made it clear that he is not. “I don’t think the relationship is working,” Fifty told the host. He even shared that he would sometimes “run after” his son and go to places Marquise went, but would allegedly leave his son. On October 10, Marquise posted a photo with cash shaped into the word “RAINY” with the caption: “Since you guys think $6,700 is so much money someone tell me pops I’ll pay him $6,700 for just 24 hours of his time, so we can do everything I ever wanted to do with him as a child Red Yellow Green whatever color he wants.” Fif has yet to post on his Instagram about his son’s post at the time of this writing.
