Madonna welcomed Lourdes on October 14, 1996 with then partner, fitness trainer Carlos Leon. She is the eldest of Madonna’s six children, including younger brothers Rocco Ritchie22, David Banda17, and sisters Grace James17, and twins Stella and Esther Ciccone10. Lourdes opened up about her upbringing in an interview in October 2021, insisting she didn’t get any “handouts” growing up with the massive star.

“We don’t get handouts in my family,” she said Maintenance magazine for an article published on her 25th birthday. “Obviously, I grew up with extreme privilege. It is not denied. But I think my mom saw all these other kids of famous people, and she was like, ‘My kids aren’t going to be like that.'” Lourdes also said she was completely self-sufficient, paying for her own college and apartment.
